Interviews conducted twenty years after the conclusion of World War 2 shows a younger perspective from the men who fought on the front-lines across Europe.
If you're like me, you can watch stuff like this all day long. This video is an anomaly though, which is why I thought it was worth sharing. These interviews were conducted roughly twenty years after the end of World War 2, and they show the perspectives of the men who fought in the war while it was still fresh in their memory, and while they were still healing and living out the prime of their lives.
Generally speaking, interviews with World War 2 vets were recorded much later in their lives. A lot of the interviews you see today are recorded with men well into the twilight years of life, where the scars from war have mostly healed over and their memories of the situation on the ground are clouded by age. While those stories are still fantastic, and they are still an integral part of preserving our history, it's interesting to look at this video and see the perspective of those same men, but while they are still healing from their time overseas.
