Witches of Bucha Defend Sky Over Ukraine

A short documentary piece about a Ukrainian mobile air defense unit consisting entirely of women. The Witches of Bucha patrol rear areas in pickup trucks equipped with antique Maxim guns. Given that both sides are struggling with force generation, and this video provides an interesting perspective on the manner in which different segments of the Ukrainian population are being mobilized in this conflict. Utilizing volunteers with older weapons in rear areas frees more capable troops for frontline service. The effort is reminiscent of Britain’s Home Guard during World War II.
