Open fighting has broke out between Azerbaijan and Armenia on Sept. 27, 2020, and dozens of troops on both sides have reportedly been killed in the last two days.
Armenia fought and successfully seceded from Azerbaijan at the fall of the Soviet Union, but tensions and periodic military skirmishes have been ever present. However, the current exchange of hostilities is possibly larger in scale and intensity than any fighting in recent decades.
The conflict risks pulling both NATO and Russia into the conflict as Turkey is heavily aligned with Azerbaijan and Russia supports Armenia.
The following video shows various Azerbaijani strikes, some of which are TOS thermobaric rocket artillery strikes, against Armenian tanks, air defenses, and other military targets.
