Historic archived WW2 footage shows a group of U.S. Soldiers ferrying vehicles and anti-tank guns across a river while a machine gunner lays down suppressing fire for them. At the time, filming was still rather novel, so around :30 seconds in the video you can see one of the Soldiers happily wave to the guy manning the camera. Towards the end of the video, the machine gunner takes a direct burst from an enemy position and goes prone behind some micro-terrain. As soon as the burst has completed, he gets back up and continues to suppress the enemy position.
This footage was filmed somewhere near Montereau in August of 1945.
