Video released by Ukrainian sources shows two Ukrainian Soldiers discovering and disabling a boobytrap made out a hand grenade on the inside of a shed.
From the looks of this video, this isn't the first time the Ukrainian Soldiers have seen a boobytrap made from a hand grenade on the inside of a building's doorway. There almost seems to be a standard operating procedure for dealing with this kind of device as the first Ukrainian bends down to make the hand grenade safe and the second walks off to stand-off distance for safety.
Field-expedient traps of this nature are usually victim actuated. That means they rely on the target of the device to not see it. In order to disable something like this, you simply need to ensure that the safeties are emplaced back into the grenade which will render the weapon system safe. Then you disable the device as normal by simply cutting the wire and carrying on about your business.
That said, it's always worth checking for secondary victim actuated devices in the vicinity of an improvised explosive device like this. Remember kids, where there's one, there's two, because two is one and one is none.
