This footage, provided by the Ukrainian 47th Mechanized Brigade, shows a US-donated M109 “Paladin” being used to shell a known Russian hideout and mortar ammo storage point- with immediate, explosive results.
The 47th Mechanized Brigade continues to release footage of their vehicles being used to good effect. In this case, it’s the M109 “Paladin”, a self-propelled 155-millimeter howitzer. The Paladin, in various models and upgrades, has been in service since the 1960s in the United States. 18 of the United States’ A6 configuration Paladins were delivered to Ukraine in 2023, with a total of 90 from various countries being in service in Ukraine as of 2024.
Here, we see the second round fired at the Russian-held building seems to produce a larger explosion, having likely set off the mortar rounds stored there in a secondary blast. What may or may not be a body is thrown through the air at 0:40.
