Ukrainian Long-Range Drones Attack Mozdok Air Base, North Ossetia

This footage is a compilation of two clips published by bystanders near Mozdok Air Base, in North Ossetia. They recorded a recent Ukrainian UAV strike on the Russian airfield. The base is home to Tu-22 bomber and MiG-31 fighter aircraft, and the distance from the Ukrainian UAVs’ point of origin to Mozdok represents an approximate 1,000 km (621 mi) flight.

This attack is part of an ongoing Ukrainian campaign to strike Russian military assets far from the current lines of conflict, using purpose-built long range kamikaze drones, or in some cases link retrofitted aircraft. The targets have historically been drone and aircraft production facilities, whittling away at Russia’s ability to replenish their supplies in the long haul whilst diverting resources to protect and repair them.
