Footage of Ukrainian troops employing a commercial earthmover to emplace homemade dragon’s teeth, likely in Kharkiv Oblast. Dragon’s teeth are small concrete pyramids which serve as obstacles for tracked vehicles and are used as part of a larger obstacle plan. Mines and obstacles are utilized as part of a defensive scheme of maneuver and can turn an attacking enemy from an unfavorable path, can disrupt the enemy’s formation, or can fix the enemy in place in an engagement area (EA). Once fixed in place, defensive fires can destroy the enemy within the EA. To be effective, obstacles must be covered by observation and fires.
