UKR Police Sniper Gets Kill While Covering Buddy, Bakhmut

This footage is from the scope of a Ukrainian National Police sniper, serving in the Lyut (Fury) Brigade, in Bakhmut. The unit is designed to capitalize on the training and experience Ukrainian cops already have, offering pay raises for serving police and guaranteeing post-war employment for recruits. Using a UAR-10 and thermal scope, he provides overwatch for another Ukrainian soldier. The UAR-10 is a favorite among Ukrainian snipers, having been built for semi-automatic work on the AR platform and chambered in 7.62 x 51mm.

Around 18 seconds into the clip, a Russian soldier becomes visible in the left of frame, near the Ukrainian. As the UKR soldier drops down, the sniper takes down the Russian. Note how the Russian soldier is much more illuminated than his counterpart- this suggests his clothing is less insulated than what the Ukrainian is wearing, although the jury is out whether that is a personal choice or gear issue.
