Footage provided from an Afghan National Army soldier, shows incredible footage of an Afghan Air Force (AAF) UH-60 pilot, making a hasty descent into a MEDEVAC under hostile small arms fire.
It's strange to see, but in 2017 the Afghan Air Force adopted the UH-60 Blackhawk as their primary source of rotary vehicles. Prior to the UH-60, the AAF had used the Russian Mi-17. As a result, in 2017 alone, the AAF acquired a budget for 53 UH-60's to be refurbished and commissioned. Over the course of the next few years, the AAF is supposed to acquire a total of 159 refurbished, combat ready UH-60's. This video comes to show how the American presence and training on the UH-60 over the past few years has paid off.
