We have not seen footage like this for a while. The crew of a Ukrainian T-64BV tank tows a captured Russian T-90 in Kursk. Reminiscent of the early months of the war, Russian crews are abandoning vehicles for Ukrainians to seize as trophies. By September of 2023, it was reported that as many as 500 Russian tanks had been captured by Ukrainian forces, and Forbes published a story in October about a Ukrainian soldier who called tech support in Russia when his captured tank experienced technical issues. The T-90 is Russia’s most modern tank currently active on the battlefield, but its record in the war to date is lackluster.
