Helmet camera footage of a gunfight somewhere in Ukraine shows exactly chaotic and confusing firefights in a heavily wooded area can be.
It's unclear exactly when and where this footage was recorded, but we know that it's from the Ukrainian perspective. If you've ever wondered what it's like for the Ukrainians and Russians who are fighting the current conflict, this video is probably a pretty solid representation of the average firefight.
For the most part, it appears as if there are two ways for ground combat operations to occur in Ukraine. It involves Russian or Ukrainian forces either rushing across open fields under direct artillery fire, or it involves Russian or Ukrainian forces desperately trying not to commit fratricide as they maneuver through intensely wooded areas.
There are obvious exceptions to this, such as when we were seeing heavy fighting in places like Kharkiv, Mariupol, or any of the villages and cities where fighting has been present, but I'd be willing to wager footage like this makes up an overwhelming amount of the direct combat.
