This footage, provided by the Ukrainian 3rd Assault Brigade, shows their soldiers (including a quick selfie from the cameraman) as they defend their dug-in positions from a Russian probing attack in the forest of Kharkiv.

The Third Assault Brigade is one of Ukraine’s crack assault teams, and as such we typically see them on the attack. However, in this footage, they’re in a defensive position. The radio communication provides some context for what’s going on, explaining that the Russian forces (unseen here) pulled back after taking casualties. As the Russian squad is repelled, at least one is killed outright, and apparently looted for his anti-drone equipment along with his AK. An undisclosed number of Russian soldiers were also wounded. The Ukrainians discuss not giving up or revealing their position to chase the Russians or investigate- after all, victory loves prudence.
