Operation Moshtarak was an all out slug-fest between the Taliban and the Marines inside of the city of Marjah. If you weren't there, you might never know the U.S. Army participated.
The Battle for Marjah is up there when it comes to battles the Marine Corps is known for. While it was no Hue City or Fallujah, it was still a location that required a lot of time and energy from U.S. and Coalition forces. The battle itself was called Operation Moshtarak, and unless you were there, you might think only the United States Marine Corps participated.
While it's true that the Marine Corps was in fact the main effort in Operation Moshtarak, to the North a group of Soldiers from 4th Battalion 23rd Infantry Regiment were also doing their part to ensure that the Taliban were rooted in place and destroyed by the United States Marines pushing North from Camp Dwyer. This footage was recorded on one of their many interdiction patrols throughout Moshtarak.
While there may be differences and competitions between branches, and inner-service rivalry will always exist, at the end of the day it's important to remember that we are all one team, taking part in one fight.
