A Marine Infantry Lance Corporal does a comprehensive and honest review of what it is like being an infantry Marine in Afghanistan. If you've ever wanted to know, here's the answer.
Videos like this make me really wish that our Grandparents and Great Grandparents had access to handheld cameras during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. Normally, the take you get on combat is this super serious perspective. Everything honorable. Everything rank and file, covered and aligned. The reality however is much different.
War is irreverent by nature. You use dark humor to cope with being in a genuinely crappy situation. I really wish that we somehow had a way to look back into the past and witness some of the irreverent humor of past generations in combat. We don't have a way to do that though, so future generations will see this video, and they'll have to take our word for it.
