Footage coming out of Helmand Province, Afghanistan shows a rallied Afghan National Army taking the fight directly to the Taliban in the province most known for Taliban presence.
The Taliban offensive has been on-going for the past month or so in Afghanistan. The group, which claims their current offensive is in direct response to the United States failing to meet their target deadline, initially met almost no resistance as they easily pushed through formerly Taliban held territories and forced Afghan Security forces back. The tides of battle seem to be shifting out of the Taliban's favor however, as the ANA rallies and starts to conduct counter-terrorism operations against the Taliban's latest offensive.
I don't think that the Taliban were prepared for the Afghan National Army to put up such a stiff resistance, or for them to even attempt conducting counter-attacks into what was previously the heart of Taliban country. What we are seeing however is the Afghan National Army fearlessly pushing into areas like the Helmand Province.
