Update: Thanks to Brian LeBlanc in our Facebook Page comments we now have this additional information about the attack: "That was the XO of 2-5 IN, 3/1 AD. the worst injury was the XO broke his arm. He was on his to our COP in sultan kahl. That footage came from our blimp."
An IED attack in the Wardak Province, of Afghanistan on 07 NOV 2011 is captured in crystal clear high definition by a blimp surveillance system.
We don't have a ton of great information available on this IED attack, but I'm sure that will change once the comments start to roll in. What we do know is the date the attack happened, and where it was. The only other information I was able to get on this video is that the unit was 3-1. I don't know if that 3-1 is a unit callsign, or an actual unit identifier.
If you have any more information on this specific IED attack, please let us know back in the comments over on Facebook. We would love to tell the full story.
