A great video angle shows the vertical landing of a US Marine Corps' F-35B "Lightning II" stealth multirole combat jet, with emphasis on the three-bearing swivel duct nozzle (3BSD). The nozzle, mounted at the back of the aircraft, allows the thrust from the engine to be vectored from straight aft for conventional flight to straight down for STOVL (short takeoff vertical landing) operations. The 3BSD moves through ninety-five degrees of motion seamlessly with no change in engine operation and provides yaw control while hovering.
