Sounds of Battle as Ukrainian Troops Slug it Out in Kherson

A short clip of Ukrainian troops defending a shattered building in Kherson. Given that so much footage is released with music added, this video is valuable as it provides the raw sounds of battle. We can hear the brisk small arms fire raging outside the stricture as these two soldiers maintain their position. Late last year the Ukrainian Army began slipping units across the Dnipro River, establishing first a presence and then a beachhead on the left bank. As the Ukrainian footprint east of the river grew from reconnaissance forces to elements of two Marine brigades, observers speculated that this might become yet another front, and could even become the main effort should they funnel enough units across the river. This has not been the case, and Russia has cauterized the wound by shifting units to this sector and attempting to push the Ukrainians back into the river. This effort has proved costly for the Russians in terms of men and materiel. Kherson now seems to have devolved into an economy of force role, siphoning Russian combat power from other fronts in order to support a main effort elsewhere.
