Amid escalating regional contentions with Iran, unspecified explosions targeted several sections of one of Iran's major natural gas pipelines resulting in massive fires.
It's not clear if sappers, drones, or some other undetermined method was used to hit the key infrastructure, nor is it known who carried out the attacks. Iranian officials simply blamed sabotage and terrorist activities.
Iran has developed several international enemies through their consistent sponsorship of terror groups like the Houthi rebels in Yemen, Shia militias in Iraq, and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Additionally, the Iranian government oppresses local Kurdish ethnic populations, who have been known to rise up now and then. The list of possible suspects is lengthy.
