Video released by Russian sources shows a new T-72 with an updated and upgraded version of the famous cope cage protecting the turret. The objective of this new design is to increase the tank's protection against the FPV drone threat. It's unclear if they were trying to find a way to streamline the shed tank's design, or if they were trying to improve on the design of the original cope cages which have proven to be mostly ineffective at increasing the force protection against drones and javelin missiles.
