Russian Soldier Takes Out Ukrainian Drone With Sack Of Potatoes

This footage, taken by an observing Ukrainian drone, shows a Russian soldier getting extremely unconventional with his anti-drone countermeasures. Watch as an FPV explosive drone closes in, only for the Russian to swat it down with a sack of potatoes. He places himself and dinner at extreme personal risk but escapes comparatively unharmed.

While comical, this actually does represent a risky endeavor- the drone explodes just feet from him, and the soldier appears to be (at the very least) a little rattled after the explosion. However, he gets right back to his feet and jogs away, presumably to get more taters. With greater weight and surface area, this new means of drone destruction (NATO Identifier: IDAHO GOLD) certainly proves more effective than the more often seen sticks and stones.

In terms of drone defenses and countermeasures, this brings to mind the definitely false story that still gets spread about how NASA spent millions on developing a pen to write in space whilst the Russians used a pencil.
