Video released to TikTok and Telegram by service members with the armed forces of Ukraine shows the moment an alleged Russian Soldier approaches their fighting position intent on surrendering.
I say that this is an alleged surrender because there is no way for us to independently verify the claims that the surrendering troop is in fact a Russian Soldier. From the video alone, we are not able to verify his nationality, and it's not like his identification card is being held up in front of a camera. That said, the source of this footage has regularly posted content from the front-lines in the past, and has usually been a fairly reliable source, although he is generally biased towards Ukraine since he is a Ukrainian Soldier.
Hopefully down in the comments we can get a loose translation of the situation. For the most part I assume the Ukrainians are just identifying the Soldier, calling him to their position, and then giving him general EPW commands like, "Put your hands behind your head and interlock your fingers" etc, etc.
It's unclear exactly where this video was filmed, however the Soldier who released the footage was last confirmed near Bakhmut. It's unknown if that is still where he is currently deployed.
