Russian Sappers Blow Up Massive Insurgent Cave Base

Russian sappers used several tons of explosives to completely destroy an insurgent cave base in Syria's northwest Hama province in June 2021.

The manmade tunnel system, reportedly dug in 2019, was over 2 kilometers in length, and wide enough to operate vehicles within. The cave was being used as a rebel hospital, armory, and hideout before being demolished by Russian forces.
