Cockpit footage shows a Russian Ka-52 "Alligator" attack helicopter providing close air support before being forced to make an emergency landing as a result of Ukrainian ground fire.
The chopper's reliance on unguided rockets forces the pilot to fly extremely low to the ground and rocket salvos are not all that accurate when compared to precision munitions which can be fired from safer distances with pinpoint accuracy.
Translations on Twitter report the pilot talking about his gearbox coming apart prior to the emergency landing. OSINT researchers suggest the incident was recorded in the vicinity of the Hostomel airport at the onset of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
