Ukrainian forces carried out two attacks within 24 hours on the Shaktarsk rail station in Donetsk with the targets being trains carrying fuel for the Russian military. The events occurred around the 26th and 27th of October 2022.
The Russian invasion into Ukraine has relied heavily on trains for logistical support for resupply and reinforcements. Although trains can carry much cargo over long distances, they cannot deviate their routes, making trains, tracks, and rail bridges prime targets. It's not yet clear the manner in which these attacks were carried out, whether by munition strike or sabotage.
