Pro-Ukrainian individuals have been taking to the internet to try and paint an inaccurate picture of the situation on the ground in Ukraine. Please take what you're seeing on Twitter and Reddit with a grain of salt.

As more and more people continue to rally behind the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighting against the Russians, it's important to note that information is now being regularly distorted and taken out of context to paint a far more dire situation on the ground for Russian ground forces. The video above was recorded by a Russian drone. It shows the destruction of a Ukrainian ammo depot in the Chernihiv industrial zone.

The key indicators in this video are actually dead center of the screen. While the person who tried to distort this image went out of their way to crop the red star in the upper right hand corner out of the video, they did absolutely nothing to conceal the trademark green crosshair inside of a green box that marks the drone footage as belonging to the Russians. It's also worth noting that the only combat drone being flown by the Ukrainian military as of today is the Turkish TB2 Bayraktar, which has an entirely different user-interface system.

It's clear that people strongly support Ukraine, and rightfully so. Ukraine did not provoke this attack, they simply found themselves the target of Russian aggression. That said, distorting information for fake internet points on Twitter and Reddit does absolutely no one any favors except for the user trying to make themselves feel good about their stupid internet points. The perception of the situation on the ground by random internet users does nothing to change the actual circumstance for the average Ukrainian living in the middle of this conflict.

Please do your best to call out posts like this when you're out on the internet. We have made mistakes during all of this coverage, so we're not entirely fault free, however we find it a bit ridiculous that people would go out of their way to try and edit Russian footage to make it look as if the Ukrainians are absolutely dominating. This does nothing to help the Ukrainians, and actually hurts their credibility in the long run as Russia can use this information to build their own anti-Ukrainian propaganda. "Look, the Ukrainians are trying to claim our victories."
