Drone video released by Russian forces operating near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region shows an unknown Russian attack helicopter conducting a fire-mission against Ukrainian positions and equipment.
The Russian attack helicopter we're seeing in this video appears to be on of the modern KA variant rotary wing assets from the Russian military. Developed by Kamov Design Bureau in Russia, the KA variants are the new modern class of attack helicopters that have been heavily fielded in the on-going war in Ukraine. From the video alone, it's difficult to tell which variant we're looking at. It could be either one of their Ka-50 Black Sharks, or the Ka-52 Alligator.
