A composite of the Roll On/Roll Off (RoRo) ferry after being struck by a Ukrainian missile. The Conroe Trader, a Russian-flagged vessel designed for transporting heavy rolling cargo, is one of two ferries based in the Port of Kavkaz. The Conroe Trader and its counterpart, the Avangard, are responsible for transporting cargo such as trucks and rail cars across the Kerch strait to Russian-occupied Crimea and have subjected to attack by Ukrainian forces. In May it was reported that the vessels had been hit, with one source claiming that Ukraine used ATACMS, followed by a drone attack in July. The source for these vessels alleges that a Ukrainian Neptune anti-ship missile struck Conroe Trader, which appears to burn fiercely. Significant damage to this vessel will significantly degrade Russia’s ability to support its forces in Crimea.
