Rockets Hammer Camp Taji Again, More US Troops Wounded

Another wave of rockets hammered Camp Taji in Iraq, wounding at least three more US troops and killing two Iraqi soldiers. The attack comes just days after two US service members and a British soldier were killed in a similar strike on the same base. The US-led coalition announced that a daytime barrage of at least 25 107mm rockets impacted the base that houses US troops. The attacks are being carried out by Kataib Hezbollah, and Iranian-backed militia that is also part of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMU), a paramilitary unit that serves as a proxy for Iran’s IIRGC as well as the pro-Iran cabinet members of Iraq’s parliament. Large quantities of unfired Iranian Fajr-1 107mm rockets from the bold (Daylight) attack today against Camp Taji #Iraq, with their covert launchers. Caused only a few injuries, pretty clear who's responsible. Quite interesting and neat launcher design. pic.twitter.com/SPMthA7hZv — Cᴀʟɪʙʀᴇ Oʙsᴄᴜʀᴀ (@CalibreObscura) March 14, 2020 The US responded to the first attack with five airstrikes on Iranian proxy positions, including a weapons depot at the Karbala International Airport. It remains to be seen what retaliation measures will be carried out this time. The following unconfirmed video clips reportedly capture the sound of rockets in flight as well as impacting.
