Very non-descript footage published to YouTube shows what appears to be U.S. Marines and Contractors from an unknown company engaging AQI forces in a hectic firefight.
There's two things about combat footage from the Global War on Terror that really gets to me. In all of that footage we recorded through all of our combat deployments, we kept a very good record of the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan as it was seen through our eyes. Marines and Soldiers on the ground recorded history in real time as it was happening for the first time in the history of modern warfare. No media spin. No confusing perspective. Just the man on the ground recording what happened to him. Then, we took to YouTube, titled the videos "Fish Market - May 2006" and slammed the worst version of a pirated Seether song from Limewire that we could find over the original audio.
I, unfortunately, cannot say that I am not guilty of this. I too made this exact mistake. For that sin, I am now forced to comb through the internet finding this artifact footage so that I can ask you all to help me identify the details. Fortunately, the project here at Funker530 has had a ton of success with that in the past. If you or anyone you know was present for this firefight, please send us the details so that we can have a better record of the fighting that occurred. What unit was this? What was happening before the firefight broke out?
