(NSFW) UPDATED - Pro-Ukrainian Chechens Ambush Russian Transport Vehicle

UPDATE: We've added the full-context video of the ambush to this blog. This longer version, while more graphic, provides additional context to the engagement. Additional context includes maneuver to/from the ambush, along with additional perspectives of the fight. It's also notable that this team has been confirmed to be that of Abdul Hakim al-Shishani. Al-Shishani is a notable commander from the Syrian Civil War of Anjad al-Kavkaz (AK). AK fought the Syrian Government primarily, and oftentimes refused to fight alongside other (see: Terrorist) organizations. This was especially true when there was in-fighting (common). Notably, Shishani and his team did not associate with the Islamic State and was considered one of those 'moderate' rebel groups you've heard about. They actively condemned any attacks against civilians, with one example being condemnation of an ISIS attack on the Atatürk Airport in 2016.

Shishani found his way to Ukraine in 2022, much to the media's coverage. He and his team are using Russia's war in Ukraine solely as a means to fight Russia, and less on Ukraine's 'behalf', whom Shishani believes is the sole source of oppression for those that share his ideology. He believes that there will be an eventual World War against Russia, during which he and his supporters will be able to reclaim the North Caucasus. -Ronnie

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Pro-Ukrainian Chechens operating as partisan fighters inside of Russia conduct an ambush on a Russian transport truck near the village of Sereda which is located in the Belgorod region.

This video was released by the Ukrainian Intelligence Directorate on Telegram. It claims that the fighters are Ichkerian, which means they are Chechen for those of you who are uninitiated. The location of the attack has been geo-located, and you can find it by hitting a quick Google search of these coordinates.

50.245343, 36.620006.

If these coordinates are accurate, it would put this ambush just across the border inside of Russia.
