Plane Mounted Laser Burns Drones Out Of The sky

Video shows the Israel Defense Ministry employing an Elbit Systems high-power airborne laser system to successfully down multiple drone targets.
According to the report, the plane-mounted laser system neutralized 10 out of 10 target drones, all of which were flying at different altitudes, speeds, and ranges. The laser can also lock on to and destroy targets regardless of cloud and weather conditions.
“This is the first time in Israel, perhaps the world, that this was done,” said Brig.-Gen. Yaniv Rotem, head of military research and development at the Ministry of Defense. “This is a groundbreaking technological achievement and is a critical step for further development.”
