Footage shared on pro-Ukrainian telegram reportedly shows a Wagner element maneuvering along a treeline near Bakhmut, when Ukrainian artillery strikes forcing them to retreat after numerous casualties.
The situation in Bakhmut continues to be a grinding, attrition-type battle led on the Russian side by Yevgeny Prigozhin's Wagner. Geolocated footage of Ukrainians with some level of freedom of maneuver east of the river in Bakhmut (covered last week on our live YouTube Show) shows that the city still stands, and there have reportedly been localized Ukrainian gains to the North of the city to re-gain a section of the E40 highway.
Just as with the Russian situation near Kreminna, though, Ukraine's risk of envelopment in the Bakhmut salient is present and it's at least SOMEWHAT reminiscent of the situation near Severodonetsk (river cutting the city in two, being used generally as a geographical boundary/barrier). As Russia presses its advance in parallel North-West along the E40 highway on the Northern side of the city, they will be able to find breakout points to the South of the highway towards Bakhmut. Heavy fighting has been reported North of Bakhmut near Krasna Hora and Paraskoviivka, about 4 and 5km North of Bakhmut respectively
Something that's always important to note about our team, is that we're small. We're 4 total on the forward-end of the site, and I've only recently started adding to the pack of (2 + me) writers that we have. I've historically been behind the scenes on the admin side, and covering this footage on the live stream. We don't claim to be a news station, nor up to date on the most localized changes in the FLOT for the War in Ukraine. From a time resource perspective, we also can't post every video we come across. If you guys find things out in the wild that you think are relevant for archival here, tag us on socials; I'm @RonnieAdkins_ on Instagram and Twitter. Or submit it to our Funker530 Submission Form.
