(NSFW) Ukrainian Squad Raids Russian Position in Bakhmut

GoPro footage released by a SAW gunner with the Ukrainian Lukas Squad captures the unit exfiltrating at the end of a raid against a Russian position. Seconds before leaving, the squad comes under direct artillery fire from Russian forces, wounding one of the Soldiers in the unit.

Generally speaking, when you fully clear out an enemy position and take it from them, you want to maintain that ground. Ultimately, taking ground from your enemy and holding onto it is the root of all warfare. In this instance, the Ukrainian had taken control of a Russian position through force, and were forced to pull off of the position because it was entirely untenable. Dominantly, the position was untenable because Russian artillery already had their own troops positions dialed in as on-call targets.

Go ahead and let that sink in for a moment. The Russian artillery gun-line already had their own troops positions dialed in as on-call targets.
