This footage, provided by the Police Department in San Antonio, Texas shows how two officers responded to the outbreak of gun violence during last month's Fiesta celebration in the city's historic Market Square. There were multiple casualties, including wounded bystanders, and therefore viewer discretion is advised.
Due to the nature of bodycam audio recording, the first few seconds of each officers' response is muted. However, given that we know they are responding to an active gunfight, it's amazing how many people neither seek cover nor generally try to get out of the way.
The police shown here witnessed Mikey Valdez, 18, exchanging gunfire with 20 year old Albert Cisneros, Jr. Albert was hit, whereupon police shot Valdez as seen here. Both men were taken to an area hospital where they were pronounced dead. According to the police, four bystanders, all women, were wounded in the incident, none seriously. Two were released from the scene, and another two transported and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Interestingly, reports to date have not confirmed whether the injuried parties were wounded due to the criminal element or due to the police response.
