FLIR drone video released by Ukrainian forces captures the moment a squad-sized group of Russian troops gets caught out in the open by an artillery strike.
It's unclear when and where this footage was filmed, but regardless of that fact you're looking at the worst case scenario for a squad of infantrymen. Being on the wrong end of a "troops in the open" artillery strike is quite possibly one of the worst things that can happen to you. The immediate action drill for this is literally to hit the deck and get your feet facing towards the impact area while praying to whatever God you choose to keep you alive at the end of the strike.
In almost every other scenario there's an immediate action that allows the contacted troops to defensively fight back and attempt to regain the initiative against the enemy. The only exception to this are being strafed by fixed-wing aircraft and the exact scenario you see playing out in the video above.
