(NSFW) Russian Soldier Ambushed At Close Range At Night

Intense night vision thermal footage shows a Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) close-range ambush on an unsuspecting Russian soldier, reportedly in the vicinity of Novoprokopivka, south of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

One thing that has stuck out to me since the Russian invasion of Ukraine early last year is the absolute lack of personal night vision devices among the Russian troops. Even Russia's first wave Spetsnaz forces were seen without any mounting points for night vision goggles on their helmets (or rifle optics for that matter).

As seen in this video, this Russian soldier is just meandering his way through the dark at the visual charity of the moon's illumination.
