This footage, provided by a drone from Ukraine’s 2nd Guard Battalion, shows a Russian assault team which gets pinned down by small arms fire and finished off by drone grenades. Viewer discretion is advised.
Having been in use since the dawn of military strategy, one of the literal “oldest tricks in the book” is known colloquially as “hammer and anvil”- fix your enemy against a threat, hold them in place with it, and then pummel them with another threat from another direction. It’s timeless, brutal, and effective, and it’s worked from the days of Leonidas to Napoleon to today. In the current state of war, “hammer and anvil” looks like this: suppressing fire from small arms keeps them in place while drone-dropped grenades hammer them from above. New technology, ancient principles.
War. War never changes.
