(NSFW) Medics Treat Badly Wounded Soldier On Kreminna Front

Helmet cam footage from Ukrainian medics along the Kreminna front in Luhansk shows the treatment of a seriously wounded soldier that had sustained a life-threatening head injury.

The patient is delivered to the casualty collection point by frontline troops. According to the description, he received a head injury from artillery shelling. The medics transfer the wounded soldier to their makeshift ambulance, a small pickup truck.

The medic then uses her shears to exposes the man's arm and gains intravenous (IV) access with a catheter into the left accessory cephalic (AC) vein. She then gives him a dose of tranexamic acid, which helps promote stronger blood clots.

She begins to expose the man's head injuries for further treatment, but then jumps to another drug injection. This time she gives the patient ondansetron, which prevents nausea and vomiting. The best thing this patient has going for him is a functioning airway, which could be blocked quickly if he were to begin vomiting.

The medic exposes enough of the head to get a better understanding of the injury, which appears to be a penetration of the skull above the left eye. She then wraps it with a clean pressure dressing in hopes it will stop the bleeding.
