(NSFW) Man Attempts to Steal Police SUV and Gets Shot

The Concord Police Department has released body worn camera footage of a deadly officer involved shooting that occurred in February of this year.

According to the Concord Police Department, the video shows suspect Brandon Combs attempting to steal a pickup truck from Modern Nissan in Concord on the night of February 13, 2022. The responding officer, Timothy Larson, made contact with the man while he was inside of the pickup truck and asked him to step out of the vehicle. Combs refused and continued to attempt to start the vehicle prompting Larson to attempt to break the glass with his baton.

After failing to break the glass, Larson retreated to a position of cover behind a nearby vehicle. This movement opened a window of opportunity for Combs who then immediately exited the vehicle and sprinted to the still running Police SUV. Once inside, Combs began to rev the enging while Larson was standing directly in front of it.

Larson then discharged his service pistol five times before stopping to call out shots fired from his location. After the call, he fired one more shot at Combs. Combs did not survive the encounter, and Officer Larson was not injured. The officer and the department is however being sued by Combs' family even though the Cabarrus County DA did not file charges against the involved officer.
