(NSFW) Lyut Brigade’s “Enei” Special Operations Battalion in Pivnichne

This footage, provided by Ukraine’s Lyut Brigade, shows the “Enei” Battalion operating in Pivnichne, a town in the Donetsk Oblast near Toretsk. The cameraman is shown engaging Russians with a machine gun, clearing buildings and interacting with a civilian from the area. As a warning: Russian casualties are shown and as such, viewer discretion is advised.

The Lyut Brigade (also rendered “Liut”, translated to English as “Fury”) is largely composed of Ukrainian Law Enforcement elements. Essentially, police units were militarized during the War in Donbas- a sort of precursor conflict to the current Russian invasion- and these units were brought under one chain of command as the Lyut Brigade. For Ukrainian Police Officers, service in the Lyut Brigade counts as a continuation of their service as police insofar as pay, rank, and retirement. New recruits who are not police are guaranteed work as Police Officers at the end of the conflict. The “Enei” Battalion is Lyut’s Special Operations element.
