(NSFW) Israeli Falls For The Oldest Trick In The Book

This footage shows an Israeli confronted with a Palestinian flag out in the open in the West Bank. The soldier moves to kick it down, but this triggers an IED. The visible blood spray indicates he is at the very least severely wounded, but more than likely killed. Viewer discretion is advised.

What was presumably meant to be a video of an Israeli triumphing heroically over a lone, unguarded flag turns into horror, because he fails to recognize the flag as the bait that it is. This is, of course, an old trick, but generally more subtle- in World War Two, for example, German troops leaving behind what we’d now refer to as IEDs would attach their triggers to paintings left askew, knowing that enemy officers would be unable to resist straightening them.
