Video published by members of Hamas conducting combat operations against the Israeli Defense Force from their underground tunnel network captures the moment two fighters come up on a military working dog that they killed just moments before they began recording.

It's unclear exactly where this was filmed since the fighters are operating underground, but it appears as if the IDF was using the dog to scout the tunnel systems and locate possible Hamas locations inside. Unfortunately, as is the reality of war, military working dogs are a tool and asset used to protect human life. As painful as it is to see a military working dog killed, the dog was killed preventing a human being from forced into the exact same scenario.

While Hamas may have released this video as a way to brag, it's a reminder to the rest of the civilized world that military working dogs are absolute heroes and essential tools promoting troop survivability. As a constellation, the Israeli Defense Force now knows exactly where these two guys are. Their time above room temperature was probably measured in hours following this.
