This footage, from a Ukrainian FPV drone and accompanying spotter, shows a Russian soldier being interdicted and blasted by the drone whilst using his phone to stream his experiences. While sources report that the streamer in question is a Russian mil blogger known as Dimka, this has not been verified at time of writing. Viewer discretion is advised.
While initial reports posit that this is a known Russian military blogger, this could also simply be a Russian soldier on any sort of video call. The details remain unknown at this time. However, in any case, walking down a road in the open while doing so is a catastrophically bad idea, as this Russian found out he hard way.
While most of the jokes write themselves (“Fs in the chat!”), there’s a ton of social commentary to be made about the current generation, military or otherwise, that seems incapable of choosing an appropriate moment to be on their phones. And yes, cell phone recordings and streams do make up a significant portion of our content, but you don’t often see it from people walking down the road in broad daylight, by themselves, amid enemy activity.
