This footage, provided by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, shows their deputies' encounter with a trespassing suspect. In the course of their interaction, the suspect is hit with a Taser but he still manages to shoot and wound a deputy with a handgun in his pocket. Viewer discretion is advised.

The deputies are shown here speaking with Anthony Carpenter, 32 years of age, in a local park. He was banned from the park the day prior, and served notice that he would be considered a trespasser. He elected to ignore the warning and return, which is what led to these events.

As they argue over who has the right to do what, a deputy catches Carpenter reaching into his pockets at 0:26. This elevates concerns, as the deputies have to consider he may be reaching for a weapon. As we'll see, they are right to be concerned. The deputy draws his pistol, repeatedly ordering Carpenter to stop reaching.

An Animal Control officer comes to take possession of Carpenter's dog. This, somewhat understandably, escalates tensions. Carpenter backs away, continually reaching into his pocket and being warned not to do so. At 01:41, a deputy deploys his Taser. It appears to make an incomplete connection, probably due to Carpenter's jacket. He remains standing, but asks them to stop. A second deputy hits him with another Taser deployment, and this one also appears to be ineffective. Carpenter is still able to move and speak as he goes to the ground and gets back up, visibly flinching from the electricity. However, he returns to his standing position, asking for a supervisor and maintaining that he committed no crime. With his hands still in his pockets, the deputies keep ineffectively cycling the Taser.

At 02:27, they get a good connection, and Carter goes backward like a falling log. However, as he hits the ground, he opens fire with a pistol he had concealed in his pocket. He fires three rounds, hitting a deputy with his first. Some might consider this impressive, but it's quickly overshadowed by the deputy remaining exactly where he was, standing, and absolutely badassing the fact that he got shot by only showing minor annoyance.

The deputy was transported to an area hospital and released with non-threatening injuries, and Carpenter was booked on the following charges: Armed trespass, Resisting with Violence, and three counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder on LEO, one for each round fired.
