Insane footage captured by a Syrian Soldier shows a few brief flashes of unreal face-to-face to combat with an HTS fighter inside of a building. This is true close quarters combat.

It's rare to see close quarters battle footage captured on camera. I would imagine because often when it is captured on film, the footage never gets to see the light of day due to how intimate and brutal that style of combat actually is. While normally you would expect to see professional Soldiers engaging in this kind of combat, often that's not the case. When an enemy has himself burrowed in a home, a lot of the time that enemy can be removed from the home simply just by removing that home.

The situation in Syria however is far more visceral than that. It's not two professional military units fighting against each other there. Instead, it's swathes of unconventional fighters maneuvering through urban terrains while a semi-professional military made primarily of conscripts is forced to fight them by their own dictatorship. This isn't the first time we've seen combat this close, and it probably won't be the last time either. That said, it's not something anyone should take lightly.

This video is a constant reminder of the brutality's of war.
