Witness footage from a suspected mass shooting in Rahat, Israel shows the shooter walking through the coffee shop randomly firing his pistol at unseen victims.
According to Israeli Police, five people were injured yesterday when a criminal entered a coffee shop in Rahat, Israel with the intent do serious harm. Five people were injured in the attack, with two of the victims being transported to a nearby medical facility with life threatening inquires that required immediate medical assistance at the nearby Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva.
Four suspects were later arrested in connection with the shooting. Police state that they believe the shooting is connected to an on-going conflict between two families in the Bedouin town. Eyewitnesses said that an automatic rifle was used. "It was a like a terrorist attack, shots all over the place," one witness told Haaretz. "Masked men started breaking things in the café. There was a lot of chaos, it was scary."
This is the second such attack on cafes owned by the same family. This specific group of cafes has sparked mass controversy and protests in the area because they allow men and women to sit together. According to the owner, 11 people participated in the attack on the café. Two additional residents of Rahat were arrested following the first shooting that occurred on Wednesday.
