Drone footage, and footage recorded on a cell phone that have been spliced together shows both perspectives of a massive suicide attack against a Kurdish position in Syria.
The footage that you are watching here was recorded in the 2017 battle for Raqqa, Syria, which saw Kurdish fighters moving in and pushing out Islamic State fighters. It has been edited by a third party to show both angles of the attack.
The Islamic State perspective was recorded by a drone, and shows the approach and subsequent detonation of the suicide vehicle, which was manned by two Islamic State Fighters. The fighter hanging out of the roof was utilized to prevent the Kurdish fighters from getting off any rocket-propelled grenades that could sympathetically detonate the vehicle before reaching its target.
The Kurdish perspective captures a few moments before the suicide vehicle detonates, and then records the aftermath of the explosion. The aftermath scenes contain a few images which may be disturbing to some viewers, but considering the size of the explosion it's safe to say that the Kurdish Soldiers got incredibly lucky overall.
