(NSFW) Back When Chechens Used to be Terrifying on the Battlefield

A video from April of 2000 shows Chechen fighters conducting an ambush on a Russian column. They completely wipe out the entire convoy, leaving no survivors, and in this video it appears that they are better with their rifles than they are a camera.

Believe it or not, in the early 2000s, Chechen fighters were a force to be reckoned with on any battlefield. They would routinely throw punches at occupying Russian forces, and during the first part of Operation Iraq Freedom, having a Chechen Sniper in your area of operations meant you had to do the sniper dance at all times, even when you were inside of the wire on your own forward operating base.

Today, all of the Chechens fighting on the Russian side are the laughing stock of the Russo-Ukraine War. They show up after battles have already concluded, stage firefights against empty buildings, and carry more gimbal stabilized smart-phones into combat than actual warfighting equipment, because Allah is watching their every move live on TikTok apparently. Imagine how the men in this video would react if they knew their sons would be filming TikTok videos on the Russian side of any conflict 23 years later.
